Sergeant Falks attended and received his Basic Peace Officer Certification from Alvin Community College in 1999. Sergeant Falks then began his law enforcement career that same year with the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, where he served as a Deputy Jailer / Booking Officer, Patrol Deputy, Field Training Officer, Evidence / Property Room Manager, and Criminal Investigator Sergeant, where he specialized in Robbery and Homicide. Sergeant Falks left the Sheriff’s Office in December of 2012 and accepted a position with the Memorial Villages Police Department where he served as a patrol officer, and was later promoted to Lead Detective and evidence room manager. In July of 2019 Sergeant Falks accepted the position of Patrol Sergeant at the Iowa Colony Police Department, and in 2020 was promoted to his current position as the Criminal Investigations Sergeant. Sergeant Falks has spent the majority of his law enforcement career serving the citizens of Brazoria County with honor, dedication, and integrity. Sergeant Falks has a strong belief in transparency and communication with the public. Sergeant Falks has a motto that he has lived by throughout his law enforcement career, “treat everyone with the same level of respect that you yourself would expect”. Sergeant Falks prides himself in leadership and believes that the true measure of leadership is influencing and leading by example.
