Defendant’s Options

Pay the fine in full

See the Payment Options Tab for further details

Request a Payment Plan

Please contact the court to get options. You must make the request prior to your initial court date and time. A payment installment contract is required to be signed and on file before it is in effect.  Please note, paying your fine will result in a conviction reported to the State.

Request a Driving Safety Course

Driving Safety Courses allow defendants to complete a class in exchange for a dismissal of many traffic-related charges. In addition to completing (and paying for) the course, defendants must be assessed court costs and may be assessed an administrative fee. Only certain charges are eligible for this option. You cannot take more than one course in a 12-month period prior to the date of your citation. Please contact the court to see if you are eligible. If eligible, you may request the Driving Safety Course prior to your initially scheduled court date and time. CDL holders are not eligible for this option.

Request Deferred Disposition (probation)

Defendants may be eligible to have their charges dismissed by completing a term of probation known as deferred disposition. In addition to completing any probation terms, such as avoiding further charges or completing community service, defendants are typically assessed court costs and administrative fees.
