Sergeant Kenneth Taylor began his career in law enforcement in 2010 after graduating from the Alvin Community College Police Academy. Sergeant Taylor started off as a patrol deputy with the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office. He then moved to Fort Bend County, where he served as a Deputy Constable for nine years. During his time at Fort Bend, he advanced into a specialized unit in the traffic division. Sgt. Taylor then received his Reconstruction Certification through Texas A&M where he was trained by Texas Highway Patrol in fatal crash investigations. During his tenure with Fort Bend County, he has been recognized for his outstanding work in vehicular crimes investigation.

He holds a Master Peace Officer Certificate and has over 4,700 hours in TCOLE training. His extensive law enforcement experience includes patrol, traffic division, investigating vehicular homicides, teaching crash investigation, and teaching Standardized Field Sobriety Testing to officers. He has received training Advanced Roadside Impairment Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) for detection of impairment with narcotics, commercial motor vehicle weight enforcement. He has received multiple letters of commendation for his bravery, vigilance, and professionalism in law enforcement. He has also a recipient of the Unit Citation Award.

Sergeant Taylor has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management.
