Sergeant Jorge Sosa began his law enforcement career in 2012. He earned his Basic Peace Officer License through the Alvin Community College Police Academy in 2012. He worked for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office – Patrol Division from 2012 to 2015. While at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant Sosa was a Field Training Officer before his lateral transfer to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office where he was assigned to the Patrol Division. Sergeant Sosa continued as a Field Training Officer and joined the Brazoria County Special Response Team (SRT). In 2017, Sergeant Sosa was promoted to the rank of Criminal Investigator. While assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division, Sergeant Sosa conducted an extensive amount of investigations such as Homicides, Robberies, Officer Involved Shootings, Aggravated Assaults, Sexual Assaults, Thefts, Burglaries, Financial Crimes, and Death investigations. During this time, Sergeant Sosa continued to be assigned to the Brazoria County Special Response Team where he led and managed a team of 10 to 15 tactical operators on high-risk search and arrest warrant services. Sergeant Sosa is an experienced law enforcement Officer with a demonstrated work history in the criminal justice field. He is skilled in Law Enforcement, Active Shooter Response, Use of Force, Firearms Proficiency, Firearms Instruction, Patrol Tactics, Tactical Operations, and Criminal Investigations. Sergeant Sosa also served in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer, earning an Honorable Discharge.

Sergeant Sosa holds an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Alvin Community college and a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science degree from Sam Houston State University with a minor in Criminal Justice. Sergeant Sosa holds a Master Peace Officer License through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement with over 4000 hours of specialized training.
