State and Local Mask Orders

TEXAS GOVERNOR AND IOWA COLONY MAYOR ISSUES EXECUTIVE ORDER RELATED TO FACE MASKS, HEALTH AND SAFETY PLANS, AND OTHER COVID-19 PREPAREDNESS AND MITIGATION.

Iowa Colony, TX - June 26, 2020 - On June 26, 2020 City of Iowa Colony Mayor Michael Byrum-Bratsen issued Executive Order 2020-03 relating to face masks, health and safety plans, and other COVID-19 preparedness and mitigation. This order, which takes effect Sunday, June 28, 2020, requires commercial entities to develop, post, and implement a Health and Safety Policy by Wednesday, July 1, 2020. The Health and Safety Policy must require, at a minimum, that all employees and visitors, age 10 years or older, to the commercial entity's business premises or other facilitates wear face coverings when in an area or performing an activity which will in reasonable probability involve being within six feet of another person. The order does allow for certain exemptions to this portion of the order.

On July 2, 2020 Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued Executive Order GA-29 requiring all Texans to wear a face covering over the nose and mouth in public spaces in counties with 20 or more positive COVID-19 cases, with few exceptions. This Executive Order also limits, with certain exceptions, people cannot be in groups larger than ten and must maintain six feet of social distancing from others.
