We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in Iowa Colony's journey towards enhanced water and wastewater services! Starting in October 2021, the City embarked on a transformative process to transition water and wastewater services from various Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs) to a unified city service.

This transition aligns seamlessly with the original development plans established between developers and the city government. By consolidating services, we anticipate numerous enhancements and efficiencies that were previously unattainable with multiple disconnected systems.

Already, the City has initiated the installation of state-of-the-art AMI (Automated Metering Technology) meters. These advanced meters not only facilitate improved leak detection but also empower each customer with a robust customer portal. Through this portal, residents can effortlessly monitor their water consumption and establish personalized alerts for usage.

We understand that concerns about water quality have been raised, especially regarding variations in different areas of town. Through the integration of systems and strategic investments in systemwide improvements, we are committed to delivering a higher quality of water across the entire city, all under a unified rate structure.

Currently, residents are subject to varying water rates depending on their MUD. However, with the implementation of the new rate structure, fairness and consistency will prevail as uniform rates will be applied throughout the City.
This monumental transition signifies our unwavering dedication to providing Iowa Colony with top-tier water services and underscores our commitment to serving you, our valued residents, with excellence.

Stay tuned for further updates as we embark on this exciting journey together!

Please review our Public Information Booklet and Water Billing department page for more details.

Additionally, we are hosting an Informational Meeting on Thursday, May 9, at 6:00 P.M. for the sole purpose of providing information and answering questions about the water rates and this process.
