Planning and Zoning Commission

The Planning & Zoning Commission consists of seven members. The P&Z is an advisory group to the City Council. Some duties have been and may be delegated to the P&Z in the future. It meets at least once per month on the first Tuesday of the month. The P&Z may meet on the call of the chair for joint meetings with the City Council. The P&Z is responsible for overseeing and making recommendations to the City Council on most all development issues. These duties include reviews and recommendations as well as public hearings on all development plans and subdivision plats. In addition, the members review, hold public hearings and make recommendations regarding zoning requests and requirements. The P&Z oversees the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan, Master Thoroughfare Plan and other planning documents that may be developed over time. Other duties include recommending any changes to the Zoning, Subdivision and other development related ordinances.
