Activation of Traffic Signals Along Meridiana Pkwy

traffic signal

***UPDATE***

The contractor was able to complete all three intersections today instead of having to complete them in a phased approach. The lights will stay in this pattern for about a week before we transition them to cycling signals.

The City has been notified by the contractor for the Meridana Pkwy traffic signal project is ready to begin activating the traffic signals. The activation of each signal will take place in a phased approach as follows:

Sterling Gate/Sierra Vista Blvd – COMPLETED

Crystal View Drive – COMPLETED

Karsten Blvd – COMPLETED

Once activated, the intersections will be BLINKING YELLOW along Meridiana Pkwy and BLINKING RED on the intersecting street. This transition period will last 1-2 weeks as all of the signals are brought online. Please use caution in the area as drivers adjust to the active traffic signals.

After the activation period, the signals will then convert to an actively controlled intersection. This conversion will take place with police presence to ensure traffic is safely monitored when the intersection starts controlling traffic flow and to ensure the signals are cycling properly.

Please note that this does project is not the same as the signal project at SH 288. That project is under TxDOT control and different a contractor however we have been told that project is still scheduled for completion by the end of June.
